Sweetwater Donor Tile Install Mill Valley California
Got a call about this job through a connection from the past executive director of Greenpeace USA – Ann Leonard. The Grateful Dead has always been a friend to Greenpeace, doing a concert back in the 1970’s at GP Pacific Northwest HQ at Fort Mason. In the 80’s I worked for Greenpeace as one of the Rainbow Warrior cinematographers. Interesting how things connect and come full circle. I was setting tile back then too, as a tile contractor in California.
This time, Sweetwater needed some custom donor tiles set in the dinning area of the new Sweetwater on Corte Madera Ave in Mill Valley. There’s some fascinating history here about the beginnings and evolution of Sweetwater.
I came up with a custom design using river rocks, tile liner bars from CTW Designs and custom made ceramic leaves from Marsha Rafter from Escondito CA. The tiles were laser engraved from Laser Impressions. The project is ongoing. Here’s a little photo gallery of the process.
